Benito Moreno

Benito Moreno was born April 3, 1947 and passed away on April 2, 2013 in a Corpus Christi hospital. Benito was born in Mathis, Texas to the late Basilio and Isabel Moreno Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Basilio Moreno Jr. He is survived by his wife Elvira Moreno and two sons, Edward Moreno and James Moreno, three brothers: Fred (Nancy) Moreno of Anson, Joe (Anna) Moreno of Hawley, Pablo (Nina) Moreno of Abilene, three sisters: Linda Moreno, Suelema (Edward) Enriquez, Lorenza Moreno all of Abilene. He is also survived by three grandchildren Danielle, Ezra, Giovanni, and two great grandchildren Marcus and Natalynn and numerous nieces and nephews, He worked as the Assistant Manager for M.E. Moses Co. for 18 years and electrician and maintenance for Mathis I.S.D. for 18 years. He served as a member of the Mathis Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, San Patricio County Reserve Deputy Association and President of the Mathis Little League. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and all sports. Visitation will be Friday, April 5, starting at 11 a.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel.
