Guadalupe 'Wally' Gutierrez

He was born July 23, 1930 in Goliad, Texas to Margarito and Emilia Gutierrez.   He is survived by his wife of 58 years Pola Gutierrez, eight daughters, Vicky Pena of Temple, Texas, Mary Rivas of Mathis, Texas, Celia Cruz of Wild Rose, Wisconsin, Silvia Gutierrez of Washington D.C., Irma Gutierrez of St. Paul, Texas, Elva Rangel of Mathis, Lupe Gutierrez of Lansing, Michigan and Becky Gutierrez of Wild Rose, Wisconson; four sons, Juan Gutierrez of Austin, Texas, Ruben Gutierrez of Skidmore, Texas, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Jr. of Mathis and Roel Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister Olga DeLeon of Houston, Texas; five brothers, Margarito Gutierrez, Jr. and Ernesto Gutierrez both of San Antonio, Texas, Luis Gutierrez of Mathis, Arnulfo Gutierrez and Father Jose Gutierrez all of Corpus Christi, Texas; 41 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren.   A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday April 8 at Dobie Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Burial will follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis.
