Leon Henry Boening

Leon Henry Boening, age 79, passed away June 20, 2014. He was born May 23, 1935 in Orange Grove to the late John and Annie Boening. Leon married Barbara JoAnn Plachy on April 14, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louise Annie Skarke and Ruby Mae Boening. He is survived by his wife, Barbara JoAnn Boening of Orange Grove, Texas, two daughters Debbie Lynn Meyer and husband Bruce of Mt. Belvieu, Texas and Tonya Kaye Alvis and husband Keith of Pearland, Texas; three sons, Brett Alan Boening of Manvel, Texas, Bart Aaron Boening and wife Patricia of Fairfield, Texas and Douglas Wayne Boening and wife Michelle of Manvel, Texas, sister Lorene Stelhe of Orange Grove and brother Walter Boening of Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present between 6-7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sandia Cemetery.
