John Samuel Cuevas, "Big John", 31, of Mathis, Texas was called home on Saturday November 8, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas with family and friends by his side. John was born on March 31, 1983 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ruthie Monroe Bohac and Daniel Cuevas. John was known for his huge personality and love for life. John was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who loved to seize the day. John was everyones best friend. John was a wonderful loving and caring father and husband. His family was his world. John is survived by his wife of 12 years, Honey Cuevas. He leaves behind 2 children, son Weston Cuevas and daughter Kinsley Jo Cuevas. John is also survived by his mother, Ruthie Monroe Bohac and Daniel Cuevas both of Mathis, and brother Charlie Monroe of Corpus Christi, Texas. John is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Leo and Maggie Trevino and maternal grandparents June and Richard Monroe and brother Daniel Cuevas, Jr. Services for John will be held on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. Graveside service to immediately follow at Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas where John will be laid to rest. Pallbearers include Joel Bradley, Danny Brown, Hugh Bunton, Adam Collavo, Cody Edwards, Len Harper, Frank Holdiness, Jerry Holdiness, Paul Holdiness, Bishop Morgan, Dusty Pressley, Brad Seachard and Marvin Zinsmeyer.
