Cecil Franklin "Bud" Horton

Cecil Franklin "Bud" Horton, age 78, passed away December 20, 2014. He was born July 28, 1936 in Mathis, Texas to Cecil Edward and Lura Lucile Horton. Bud was a lifetime Live Oak County rancher, avid hunter and fisherman as well as knowledgeable local historian. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Horton, son Robert (Mary) Horton of New Braunsfels, Texas, two sisters: Betty Lou Salyer of George West and Mary Katherine (Jack) Sharp of Canyon Lake, Texas, two grandsons, Riley and Benjamin Horton, nephews Reggie (Tara) Salyer, Randy (Coco) Sharp, Jay (Jill) Sharp, and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will Friday December 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Old Lagarto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Busby, Allen Calloway, Robert Bryan, Authur Morton, David Huser and Mervin Whitley. Numerous honorary pallbearers.
