Fritz Wilbert Pfeiler of Lake Corpus Christi and formally of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014 in George West, Texas. He was born June 29, 1926 in Nueces County to Julius and Francis Skarke Pfeiler and was baptized on July 18, 1926 at St. John of the Cross Church in Orange Grove. He was currently a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Mr. Pfeiler served proudly in the United States Army. Upon returning to Orange Grove he became a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars where he served in many positions. He was a volunteer in the Orange Grove Fire Department from 1965-1977. He also held Life Membership in the PACE International Union which coincided with his job with Texaco. Mr. Pfeiler retired from Texaco after 29 years of loyal service in 1981. He married Evelyn Gloor Pfeiler on October 9, 1957. After their retirement they moved to a lakefront home on Lake Corpus Christi where they lived until they both began residing in Live Oak Nursing Center in George West, Texas. Mr. Pfeiler is preceded in death by his parents Julius and Frances Pfeiler and his wife Evelyn Pfeiler. He is survived by his sister Rosalie Holleman of Orange Grove, Texas, his sister-in-law Loraine Beutnagel of Mathis, Texas and 10 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1 to 4 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Dobie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, December 29th at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove with interment to follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church. 89
