Bernie W. Cullefer passed away September 10, 2016 from heart failure. He was born January 24, 1944 in Buffalo, Texas to Robert and Geneva Cullefer. Mr. Cullefer was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving as an M.P. He worked for Asarco for 20 years and Citgo for 25 years. He was shop steward for the electric shop at Citgo, volunteer with the Lagarto Fire Department, member of West Shore Baptist Church and on the ministry board during the 2009 Lagarto fire. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Garnett Cullefer; brother, David Cullefer; father and mother -in-law, Ted and Mary Morales and sister-in-law, Faye Cullefer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Cullefer, Sister, Gladys (Billy) Borders and Brother, Wayne Cullefer. 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also by his in-laws; Ted (Geraldine) Morales, Grace (Lupe) Coronado, Anna (Julian) Cardiel, Odelia (Ruben) Martinez Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews; wonderful friends, neighbors and church family and his furry best friend, Buddy Holly . He loved them all dearly. He was everyone's favorite uncle, a true gentle soul. His death killed me, but his life inspired me. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. September 13, 2106 at Dobie Funeral Home (121 N. Duval Mathis Texas 78368). Funeral services will be 10 a.m. September 14, 2016 at West Shore Baptist Church (148 FM 534 Sandia, Texas 78383). Graveside services will be 2 p.m. September 14, 2016 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Shore Baptist Church.
