Derajean Fuhrken

Derajean Fuhrken, age 86, died March 6, 2017. She was born March 1, 1931 in Hobbs, Texas to Dewey and Beatrice Kiker. Derajean owned a florist shop and worked as a florist for over 40 years and owned a Coin Laundry in Orange Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband Elton, son Wade and twin sister Verajean Stuckley. She is survived by three daughters Katherine (Gary) Vickers of Orange Grove, Nancy Fuhrken of Hallettsville, Texas and Patricia (Pinky) Timon of Mathis, two sisters, Lynette Schneider of Mathis and Ella Belle Edwards of Corpus Christi, brother Jerry Kiker of Leander, Texas, grandson Matthew (Krystal) Vickers of Glen Rose, Texas, three great granddaughters, Hope, Faith and Grace, godson Joe Glen Boehm of Orange Grove and goddaughter Sally Bess of Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation will begin on Wednesday Mar. 8 from 5-7 at Dobie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday Mar. 9 at Faith Church UCC in Orange Grove with Rev. Keith Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in the Sons of Hermann Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Kiker, Charles Fuhrken, Charles Schneider, Erich Schneider, Kristopher Gebert and David Gebert.
