Marvarine Brown, age 95, passed away on July 3, 2017. Marvarine was born in Waldrip, Texas on August 27, 1921 to William and Dovie Watson Miller. The family moved to Beeville where she grew up and graduated from A.C. Jones High School. Marvarine and Jack Brown, Jr. married on June 4, 1941 in San Antonio. The couple farmed, ranched and reared their four children in the Argenta Community, north of Mathis. Marvarine was a dedicated farm and ranch wife and a loving mother to her four children. Those ideals were passed on to her grandchildren. Marvarine was a member of the Argenta Church of Christ. She was a member and past president of The Garden Club and a member of the Birthday Club. She was dedicated to the preservation of the history of the Argenta Community and the Argenta School House. Marvarine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; two sons, Bill and Joe; her parents and sister, Marjorie Fuson Roberson. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Henderson and husband, W. A. of Mathis; son, Ray Brown of Mathis, granddaughter, Casey Czapliniski and husband, Adam of Parker, Colorado; grandson, Jack Brown and wife Amy of El Paso; grandson Gus Henderson and wife Amy of Fair Oaks Ranch; granddaughter Elaine Bowen and husband, Lane of Mathis; grandson, Robert Brown of San Antonio; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday July 6 beginning at 11 a.m. with the family present that evening 6-7:30 pm at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be Friday July 7 at 10 a.m. Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis. Pallbearers will be Jim McDonald, Loyd Mengers, Cassie Nelson, Tim O'Brien, Paul Scheurich and Sidney Vollmering.
