Manuel Serafin Trevino

Manuel Serafin Trevino, 82, of Mathis, Tx passed away Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2017 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born February 22, 1935 in Odem, Texas to Cayetano and Santos A. Trevino. He attended Mathis High School, graduating in 1955. Later, he continued his education at Del Mar College where he received his associates degree in HVAC. He married Margarita Cavazos of Beeville, Texas on July 6, 1956 in Mathis, Texas. Mr. Trevino was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Margarita and a son, Samuel Trevino. A sister, Lupe Duran and 2 brothers, Joe and David Trevino. He is survived by eight children: Santos (Genaro) Hinojosa, Cayetano (Rosa) Trevino, Fr. Roberto Trevino, Irene (Fidel) Garcia, Gregorio (Celeste) Trevino, Idalia (Martin) Acosta, Sylvia (Mario) Herrera and Maria Alicia (Larry) Moore. A sister, Lucy Seckel and brother Raymond Trevino. 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. December 5, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the rosary. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. December 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow in Waldheim Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Genaro Hinojosa Jr., Fidel Garcia Jr., Martin Acosta, Larry Moore, Bobby Fonseca and Diego Trevino.
