Alejandro Jose Zambrano

Alejandro Jose Zambrano, known affectionately as Alex, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024 in Gregory, Texas, at the age of 50. Born on July 21, 1973, in Pueblo, Colorado, Alex grew into a man known for his radiant smile, kindness, and an unwavering passion for football. He was a proud alumnus of Gregory-Portland High School, Class of 1991, where he spent many hours mastering the sport he loved.

Alex was deeply devoted to his family and friends, always ready to support and bring joy to those around him. His love and care extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in his community.

Alex was preceded in death by his father Alejandro Zambrano. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Zambrano, brothers Michael Lopez (Irma), and David Zambrano (Denise), nephew Ryan, and nieces Kayla (Andrew), Katlyn (Troi), Kora (Jacob), and Rebecca (Jessie). 

The community will have opportunities to pay their respects and celebrate Alex’s life. A visitation will be held at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland, Texas, on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Gregory, Texas at 10:00 a.m., with burial immediately after at Gregory Cemetery.

 Alex’s memory will forever be cherished, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
