Alton Carroll Jones

Alton C. Jones passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Kyle, Texas at the age of 100. Alton lived in Alice, Texas prior to moving to Portland, Texas in 1973. He retired from R. E. A. Express in 1975 after 34 years of service. Alton was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas, a member of the Knights of Columbus having served as Faithful Navigator, District Deputy and Grand Knight.  Alton is preceded in death by his son David Jones. Alton is survived by his loving wife of 75 years Rosalie A. Jones; daughter Anne (Mark) Baldwin; two sons Bill (Joann) Jones, and  Tom (Donna) Jones; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday February 24, 2014 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that same evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Incarnate Word Memorial Fund, 2980 S. Alameda, Corpus Christi, TX 78404 or the Reach Unlimited Inc, 11832 Mueller Cemetery Road, Cypress, TX 77429.
