DOD: 12/18/2024
With heavy, broken and sadden hearts, we announce the passing of ANDREW GUERRA on December 18, 2024, at the loving young age of 55 to forever live in the Paradise of Heaven with our Heavenly Father. He was born in Robstown, Texas on November 5, 1969, to Jose Ricardo and Basilia (Espinoza) Guerra as the third child.
Andrew was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, friend and co-worker. He will be immensely missed by everyone who knew him. Andrew made such a huge impact in many peoples’ lives within his family, church and work communities as well as the Gregory-Portland and Robstown communities.
Andrew was a devout Catholic who was inspired to love his Heavenly Father which started at a very young age instilled by his parents, Jose and Basilia. Andrew attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School during his elementary years, St. John’s Catholic School during his Junior High School years and Robstown High School. He graduated from Robstown High School in 1987. He graduated from Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Andrew was employed with Gregory-Portland Independent School District as the Technology Director for 25 years. Andrew worked diligently and loyally to grow the technology department with an effective staff of professionals that were committed to provide best practices for the benefit of all students, administrators, faculty and staff.
Andrew served his church community as a Eucharist Minister early in his marriage, and a 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Organization. Andrew was also a member of a mariachi group in his early twenties. Andrew sang and played the guitar on Sunday noon Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and he did it with such great joy and enthusiasm.
Andrew was married to his loving and devoted wife, Alma Aleman-Guerra, on April 27, 1996, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory, Texas before their loving GOD and family and friends. Together, Andrew and Alma began their journey as husband and wife and added to their family two sons, Joshua Andrew and Jeremiah Adam. Andrew was so proud of his two sons and delightfully shared his joy in them with everyone. He was truly dedicated and obligated in his roles as husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and Catholic.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ricardo Guerra and Basilia Espinoza Guerra and parents-in-law Valentin C. Aleman and Beatriz Marquez Aleman.
Andrew will be missed by his wife and sons, siblings, siblings -in-law, uncles, aunts, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was loved by so many people and made such an important and spiritual impact in their lives.
Andrew leaves behind his wife Alma Aleman-Guerra, sons Joshua Andrew and Jeremiah Adam Guerra, brother Jose Guerra Jr. (Angela), two sisters Rachel Guerra and Janette Farias (David).
Andrew had a gift for making others feel cherished and welcomed, sharing his humor and loud laughter, encouragement and words of wisdom with everyone.
Andrew leaves a legacy of love and everlasting memories that will be carried forward by his loving family and friends.
