Angelita Vela Del Bosque, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with our Heavenly Father on February 17, 2025, in Mathis, Texas. She was born on October 1, 1941 in Orange Grove, Texas to Guillermo and Josephina S. Vela.
Angelita was well-known for her career as a cake decorator, a talent she cherished for several years and shared with family and friends. Her kindness and welcoming nature made her a joy to be around; she had an innate ability to make others feel at ease in her presence. Her family fondly remembers her love for spending time together, particularly during the holidays, which created cherished memories that will be held dearly.
She is survived by her loving sons, Genaro Del Bosque Jr., Alfonso Del Bosque; duaghters, Martina (Bartolome Sr.) Padron, and Maria (Ramiro Sr.) Tijerina. Angelita was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Anastasia Hinojosa, Andrea Vela, Faustina Alaniz, Olga Vasquez, and Maria Zapata, as well as her brother Domingo (Yolanda) Vela.
Angelita was preceded in death by her husband, Genaro M. Del Bosque Sr.; parents, Guillermo and Josephine Vela; brothers Felipe, Juan, Isabel, Jose, Guillermo (Willie), Melquiarez (Mel) Vela, and her sister Josephine Prado.
Pallbearers will be Bartolome Padron Jr., Nicolas Padron, Fabian Tijerina, Ramiro Tijerina Jr., Alfredo Gonzales, Randy Vasquez, Manuel Alaniz, Bobby Hinojosa.
Visitation for Mrs. Del Bosque will be at 11:00 am and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. Funeral Mass in celebration of her life will take place on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by interment at Descanso Eterno II Cemetery in Mathis, Texas.
Angelita Vela Del Bosque’s legacy of love, kindness, and creativity lives on through her family and friends who will continue to remember her warmth and compassionate spirit.
