Angelita Figueroa Rojas

Angelita Figueroa Rojas (Polly) of Portland Texas, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on August 3rd, 2022. She was born on October 3rd, 1939 in Corpus Christi Texas, where she was raised until she relocated to Portland after marrying her husband, Marcelino J. Rojas on December 27th, 1959. Angelita was a faithful wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family.

Angelita devoted her time and energy to not only her family but also those around her that considered her as a grandmother of their own. Mrs. Rojas loved her mornings having a cup of coffee and eating marranitos. You could also find her in the backyard tending to her plants or in her room sketching. Don’t even bother her between 5 and 6pm because her novellas were on. She was a fighter until the end.

Angelita F. Rojas is proceeded in death by her husband Marcelino J. Rojas, son Cayetano Rojas, grandson Joshua Lionel Rojas, parents Antonio and Guadalupe Figueroa, siblings Antonio Figueroa Jr., Pedro Figueroa, Maria Flores, and Anna Ramirez.

She is survived by her children Mary Ann Rojas, Jose Lionel (Martha) Rojas. Grandchildren, Paul Anthony Sr. (Ciji) Martinez, Davina Ann (James) Murphy, Amanda, Jaslynn, Joelynn Rojas, Brando, and Yonathon Perez. Great Grandchildren, Caleb Guerrero, Paul Anthony Jr., Isaiah, and Xzayvien Martinez, Jolani Ann, Marcelina Murphy, Jayden, Jensen, and Adalynn Rojas. Siblings, Eddie Figueroa, Maria Leal, and Patsy (David) Mendoza. Also, by the many nieces and nephews, and others that considered her their own grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all of her loved ones.

Pall Bearers: Lionel, Paul Sr., Caleb, Isaiah, Brando, Yonathan, James, and Jayden. Honorary Pall Bearers Paul Anthony Jr., Xzayvien, and Jensen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Monday, August 8, 2022 at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at The Palms Memorial Gardens.
