Anselmo Livas Velasquez

Anselmo Velasquez Sr. passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024. He was born April 21, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ysabel & Lydia Velasquez. 

 Anselmo was known for his passion with cars in which he excelled in by owning his own shop, Phillips 66, in Corpus Christi. He later relocated to Ingleside, TX to continue his expertise by opening his business which he named Joe's Garage.

 His departure has left a void in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by many. 

 It is with heavy heart that we say goodbye to a wonderful person whose time with us was cut short. His presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished beyond measure. 

 He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Alicia Velasquez; his parents Ysabel & Lydia Velasquez Sr.; his sons Anselmo Velasquez Jr, Albert Velasquez; and brother Ysabel Velasquez, Jr.

 Anselmo Velasquez Sr's memory will be cherished by his daughters, Marta Velasquez (Jose), & Mariana Velasquez; his sons, Jose Guadalupe Velasquez (Abenat), Jose Angel Velasquez, Daniel Velasquez (Sonia), David Velasquez; sisters Jannie Mayorga (Rudy) and Lydia Cantu (Apolonio); and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Sylvia Velasquez. 

 Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory with interment to follow at the Gregory Cemetery.
