Arvel Yvonne Dressen

Arvel Yvonne Dressen, age 83, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2012. She was preceded by her husband Gene Dressen; sister Gwen (Joe) Cranford and brother Mel Gallion.
Arvel was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who cherished life to the fullest. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Portland and a lifetime member of Chat Work Civic Club. Arvel enjoyed her family and friends, her bridge clubs, the Spurs and shopping.
Arvel leaves behind her loving family to remember and cherish her memory; children Donna (Johnny) Hamil and Randy Dressen; grandchildren Michael (Michelle) Hamil and Kristy (John) Balbi; sisters Grethel Bedre, Dee (Bob) Fair; brother Elery (Romerica) Gallion.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Doctor's Regional Hospital for all their care and compassion.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Portland, TX. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Portland, TX.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
