Audrey B. Denkeler

Audrey Denkeler passed away peacefully in Christ on July 23, 2024. Born to Edwin and Anna Moerbe on November 12, 1929 in Bishop, Texas. She was the oldest of six children. She was married to Gerhardt Denkeler, Jr. for 46 years before his passing in 1994.

Audrey and Gerhardt were blessed with four children; Linda, Ellen, Joann, and Russell as well as seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Being an avid church worker, gardener, baker, seamstress, she had several jobs that kept her busy. Her longest career was with Beall’s working in both the office and the sales floor. She was never too busy to lend a hand. Being a person who never met a stranger won her many lasting relationships.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Anna & Edwin Moerbe; sisters, Beverly Boswell, Ruth Chandler, Edith Walters, and brother Edwin Moerbe Jr.; husband Gerhardt Denkeler; daughter, Linda Briley; and son, Russell Denkeler.

Audrey is survived by sister Loretta (Charles) Ronnenkamp; daughters Ellen (Douglas) Lott, and Joann (Jerry) Dorminy. Also, 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. with services to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Our Savior Lutheran Church, 808 Louisiana Ave., Corpus Christi. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi.
