Barbara Ann Stech
(February 19, 1949 – March 22, 2021)
On March 22, 2021 our beloved Barbara went home to her Lord and Savior. Barbara was born February 19, 1949 in Mathis, Texas to William (Bill) and Rosalie Stech. She was a devoted daughter, a loving sister and caring aunt.
Barbara was known for her kindness towards everyone and love for her family, church and animals. She enjoyed trips to the Texas Hill Country and mostly led a quiet simple life focusing on her family and her career at First Title Company where she was employed over 50 years.
Barbara is survived by her mother, Rosalie Stech Holleman; her sisters Laura Brock, Brenda (Mike) Carlyon, and Loretta (Jay) Katzenmeyer; her nephews Lon Brock, Max Katzenmeyer, and Kevin Katzenmeyer; her nieces Stacy (Joe) Russo and Ashley Carlyon; and great niece Summer Russo. She also leaves behind numerous cousins and her work family at First Title Company in Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her father William Stech and her stepfather Carl Holleman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Dobie Funeral Home at 121 N. Duval in Mathis, Texas. Rosary to begin at 6:00 pm during visitation. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church located at 200 S. Metz in Orange Grove, Texas. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Barbara’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at Christis Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi for their compassionate care during her hospitalization and final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her memory to St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, SPCA or charity of your choice.
