Carol Anne Kidd Messer

Carol Anne Kidd Messer passed away on September 25, 2019. She was born September 8, 1942 in Pearsall, TX to Houston L. Kidd and Burlyn Tapley Kidd. She was the loving wife to Lon Porter Messer, mother to Carolyn Messer (Rodney) Duis- Mathis, TX, and Kathy Messer (Jason) Bryan-Garrison, TX, grandmother to 4 grandchildren: Collin Reese Cass-Lubbock, TX, Braxton Porter Cass- Odem, TX, Rylee Kathleen Backsher, and Caly Reese Backsher; and aunt to Kelly (Bobby) Warren.-Corpus Christi, TX

She was preceded in death by both of her parents , 1 brother Harold “Butch” (Billie) Kidd, and Nephew Harold (Bo) Kidd.

She graduated in 1960 from George West High School and received her Bachelors in Home Economics and Elementary Education at Texas A&I University. She was a Home Economics Teacher at Mathis ISD from 1965-1992, and 5^th grade Teacher at Skidmore-Tynan ISD from 1993-1998. Carol was in FHA, UMW, Progressive Women's League, Swinney Switch Women's Auxiliary for 18 years.

Carol Loved her dogs Crew and Annie, her hobbies were gardening, sewing, and photography. She was a Christian strong in faith and God Fearing, she attended Brush Country Cowboy Church.

Pallbearers: Bobby Warren, Rodney Duis, Jason Bryan, Ray Brown, John Steelhammer, Powell Brown.

Visitation will be 5p.m.- 7p.m. Friday September 27, 2019 at Dobie Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday September 28, 2019 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel follow with Interment to Tom Mathis Cemetery.
