Charles Robert Lauer II

Charles R. Lauer II “Bobby,” 53, passed away on Monday, October 3rd, 2022. He was born on January 31st, 1969, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Charles “Pete” Robert and Bessie Loretta Lauer. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Loretta Lauer, and his grandparents, Charlie and Viola Lauer, also Charles and Hazel Young. Left to cherish Bobby’s memory are his loving wife, Shauna Lauer; his two sons; Travis (Elyssa) Lauer and Ty Lauer; stepdaughter BobbieJo McAdams. Siblings: Rebecca (Micky) Parisher, Clay (Ulanda) Lauer, Chris (Ola) Lauer; nieces: Kassey Kinard, Taylor (Kristian) Borah, Makayla Lauer; Nephews: Christopher (Miranda) Lauer, Cole Lauer, Caysen Lauer, Rickey Lauer; grandchildren: Weston and Ainslee Lauer and Kaylee, Gunner, and Gracie Erickson; great nieces and nephews: Ethan and Emma Kinard, and Kevin, Molly, Waylon, and Winnie Borah.

Charles was renamed “Bobby” as a toddler. Very few people knew that he was named after his father who was only known as “Pete.” Bobby’s most talked about characteristic was his humorous and outgoing personality. You never knew what Bobby was going to do or say in a crowd. There was never a dull moment with him around. His biggest love outside of his family was his love for driving 18-wheelers and his jeep “Bonnie-Blue.” He would spend hours working and adding onto his jeep to make her extra special. Bobby has been driving trucks most of his adult life. He drove hundreds and thousands of miles doing oilfield work. Bobby passed on his love for truck driving and sarcasm onto his oldest son, Travis. He passed on his love and compassion for others to his son, Ty. As a single parent of two sons, he had his hands full. After finding his soulmate, Shauna, whom he called “puddin,” has been by his side for the past 18 years along with his stepdaughter and her children. They spent hours together cruising in “Bonnie-Blue” enjoying life together and popping in to see their family. He was known as “Pawpaw” to his grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart. His favorite pastime with them was picking on them just so he could hear them say “Pawpaw.” Bobby will be missed dearly by his entire family.

Pallbearers will be Caysen Lauer, Kristian Borah, Wayne Elledge, David Hobbs, Martin Arellano, and Gus Dodd.
