Clarita Zamudio, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, leaving behind a legacy rich in love and dedication. Born on April 27, 1955, in Gonzales, Texas, she dedicated her life to her family, serving as a proud homemaker and the heart of her household, where she lovingly raised her children.
Clarita’s warmth and kindness were evident in every aspect of her life. She had a passion for gardening, where her hands would nurture both flowers and plants with equal care. Whether sewing, baking, or indulging in her favorite television shows like the Today Show and Wheel of Fortune, her gentle spirit shone through. Clarita was known for her unwavering support and generosity to others, always willing to lend a helping hand or share her last dollar with those in need.
Clarita's family, including her beloved husband Michael Salinas, who she spent 22 wonderful years with, mourns her passing. She profoundly impacted the lives of her daughters, Melissa (Miguel) Terrazas and Victoria Zamudio, as well as her grandchildren, Miguel III, Emmanuel, Danae, and Carter, who will forever carry her love and lessons in their hearts. Clarita is also survived by her three sisters, who will miss her deeply.
She rejoins her late husband, Guillermo Zamudio, her three brothers, and her loving parents, Martin Medina Sr. and Amelia Medina, who welcomed her into eternal peace. Clarita’s indomitable spirit and selfless nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
The family will honor Clarita's memory during the visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. A Rosary is scheduled for the same day at 7:00 PM. The Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, followed by her burial at Tom Mathis Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
Clarita Zamudio touched many lives with her kindness and will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
