Concepcion Lucio Gomez, 95, passed away at home October 3, 2013. She was born September 11, 1918. She was preceded in death by her parents Elias and Maria Lucio, husband Candido V. Gomez, daughter Sister Bernadette and son Joseph L. Gomez.
She is survived by sons: Candido Jr. (Mary), Deacon Juan (Esperanza), Pablo (Christina), Jesse (Linda) and Willie (Liz) and daughters: Maria (Bob) Weller, Lupe (Wilfredo) Lopez, Lucy (Juan) Escobedo, Olivia (Jesse) Ybarra, Elisa (Mike) Castillo, and Connie (Dee) Gomez, 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was a dedicated and loving mother to all her children. She was a member of the following Catholic organizations: Sacred Heart Society, Las Guadalupanas, Lector, Choir, Cursillistas, Evangilization Group and she was key in starting group visits to the homebound (for prayer and recreation).
Her passion was gardening, bingo, her pets and family. The family wishes to thank Maria Reyna for the special way she cared for our Mother.
Visitation will be at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, Texas on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 11:00AM-9:00PM with rosary at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Gregory. Pallbearers are as follows: Tim Casanova, John-Paul Escobedo, Candido Gomez III, Noe Gomez, Elias Gomez and Michael Castillo. Interment will follow at the Gregory Cemetery.
