Elva Valencia

May 8, 1950 – November 22, 2023

Elva Valencia, 73, of Portland, Texas, went with our Lord peacefully. She was surrounded at that time by her loving wife Margarita (Margie) Sanchez of 30 years and her son Tomas L. Sanchez, sister-in-law Marina Sanchez and niece Thea Sanchez. Elva was preceded death by her parents Jose B. and Elodia Valencia and brother Joey Valencia.

She leaves behind her son Joe Angel (Sandra) Valencia; two grandsons Jason and Noach; two sisters Elda (Diana) and Linda (Albert); four brothers Jay (Kathy), Tony (Olivia), Raymond (Lisa); also 9 nephews, 2 nieces, 12 great-nephews, 8 great-nieces.

Elva will always be remembered as funny, always joking, she loved fishing, always happy and smiling, full of life, and dancing always.

She graduated from Gregory-Portland High School and went on to work for the Port of Corpus Christi. She loved to manage Valencia Grocery Store when she was young, enjoyed her trips to Mexico, and her favorite was dancing with her Uncle Bocho.

To honor Elva, a visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29^th from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland, TX.
