Emil Victor Schroeder

Emil V. Schroeder went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was born to Emil and Otillie Schroeder on May 17, 1939, in Yorktown, Texas. He graduated from Cuero High School in 1957. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Gayle Schroeder, his parents, sister Dorothy Clements and husband Roy, brother Lee Schroeder and wife Irma, brother-in-law Cliff Boerm.  Survivors include daughters Traci Adkins (Dave), Vicki Williams, grandsons David Seeley (Sara), Jarret Williams, sister Nelda Boerm, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He served in the U.S. Army and Airforce Reserves. He worked for Reynolds Metals Company, Corpus Christi Army Depot while attending Del Mar College, Gregory Portland ISD as a school bus driver, and other jobs after retiring from Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1993. He attended and served his church in many ways including being an assistant minister. He was a devoted father as he coached his daughter’s soccer & softball teams, and 4-H leader for many years. The family will receive friends for visitation on March 26, 2024, from 5-7pm at Winsteads’ Funeral Home located at 500 Wildcat Dr., Portland, Tx 78374.  Funeral services will be conducted on March 27, 2024, at 11am at Trinity Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 808 Louisiana Ave, Corpus Christi, Tx 78404.  Burial will follow the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 9974 I-37, Corpus Christi, Tx 78410.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
