Enno Seago (né Szego), 92, of Portland, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 17, 2023. He is survived by his son, James; granddaughters, Susie Seago Rios and Laura Seago; and great-grandson, Theo Rios. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ilse and Stephan Szego; brother, Theodore Szego; and sons, Jonathan and Daniel Seago.
Born in Berlin and raised in Budapest during WWII, he immigrated to the USA in 1947. He attended Wheaton College, where he later established a scholarship fund for new immigrants. Enno built a rich life, marked by a successful career, active involvement in his church and community, and a passion for sailing, travel, gardening, bridge, and square dancing. His competitive spirit earned him multiple titles in sailing races, while his sense of adventure took him all around the globe, often alongside his loving companion, Mary Cairnes. Remembered for his unique personality, wit, humor, and generosity, his legacy endures in his family, community contributions, and accomplishments.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm on January 2nd at First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, TX.
