Eudelio B. Villarreal, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on February 22, 2025, just a couple of days shy of his 85th birthday. Born in Live Oak County on March 6, 1940, he lived a life rich with love, family, and faith that stood as a testament to his character and devotion.
Eudelio's days were filled with cherished memories centered around spending quality time with his family. His wife of 65 years, Leonor G. Villarreal, stood by his side, sharing in the laughter and joys that marked their journey together. He was a proud father to Leila Villarreal, Eudelio (Sharron) Villarreal Jr., and Victor (Romelia) Villarreal. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and his sister Abelia Flores.
Beyond his cherished family, Eudelio was known for his vibrant personality and varied interests. With a deep-seated passion for music, he found joy in playing the guitar and graced his community with his voice in the church choir. His devotion to his faith was profound; as a dedicated Catholic, he often prayed the rosary, finding peace and strength in the practice. Eudelio's love for nature also flourished through his hobbies, as he took pride in gardening and caring for farm animals, including his beloved chickens. Each plant he nurtured and animal he tended reflected his nurturing spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crispin and Elena Villarreal, son Benjamin Villarreal and sister Dominga Gonzalez, whose memories remain close to his family’s hearts. Although they are no longer with us, their legacy intertwined with Eudelio's life continues to inspire and resonate within those he loved.
The warmth and kindness that Eudelio shared with everyone who knew him made a lasting impact in the lives he touched. Family and friends will come together to celebrate his life during visitation at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Mathis, TX, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM, followed by a rosary at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass in his honor will take place the following day, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, also in Mathis, starting at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Descanso Eterno II.
Eudelio B. Villarreal will be deeply missed, but the memories of his love, laughter, and unwavering spirit will forever be engraved in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
