George G. Rodriguez, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Mathis, Texas. He was born on April 15, 1930, in Helena, Texas to Antonio and Catarina Rodriguez. George lived a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
George made a living as a truck driver, a role he embraced with dedication and pride. His journeys behind the wheel were often recounted during family gatherings, where his playful spirit could lighten even the heaviest of hearts. Known for his kind and humble demeanor, George had an innate ability to make others feel at ease. His warmth and welcoming nature endeared him to everyone who crossed his path.
Family was at the core of George's existence. His love for spending time with them, especially during the holidays, created lasting memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those he left behind. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Leticia (Carlos) Soto, Velma (Juan)Rios, Georgia Perez, Norma Ashleigh Rodriguez, Blanca Rodriguez, and Brenda Rodriguez; sons, Roberto Rodriguez, Enrique (Deidra) Rodriguez, and Mario (Gina) Rodriguez, alongside his 28 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, are a testament to the legacy of love he has built and nurtured over the years.
George is now reunited in spirit with his beloved wife, Constancia Rodriguez, his cherished daughter Veronica Rodriguez, and his sister Estephana Gonzales. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Lorenzo Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, and Isaac Rodriguez, who were part of a family bond that extended beyond this life.
As we remember George G. Rodriguez, let us hold dear the memories of his kind heart, great sense of humor, and unwavering love. Though his physical presence may no longer be with us, the light he brought to our lives will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. His legacy of kindness and love will live on through the stories we share and the lives he touched.
Memorial Service for Mr. Rodriguez will be at 6:00 pm and Holy Rosary will recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Winsteads' Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church in Mathis, Texas followed by interment at Descanso Eterno II.
