George " Rusty" Jordan

George (Rusty) Jordan was called Home by Our Heavenly Father on July 5, 2024. He had been struggling with his health for some time and is now at peace.

Rusty, a proud veteran, was born in Kingsville, Texas, on April 13, 1948. He was the oldest child to Dorothy Mae Jordan and Andrew Lee Jordan, Sr. He had two younger brothers; Billy Jordan, who lived in the Magnolia before his passing in 2023, Lee Jordan of Mathis, and his sister Georgia Edith Hunter of Katy, Texas. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Mary Carrol High School. After graduation, Rusty served his country in the U.S. Navy, a period he always cherished, and came back to Texas to live in his hometown area.

He married twice in early life and had a little girl from his first marriage and four more daughters from his second. After the second marriage, he became a life-long bachelor living in Mathis. Rusty was blessed with five daughters, three granddaughters, and two grandsons. After the Navy, Rusty settled in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas, worked as a mechanic for a while, worked with and planning and constructing the South Padre Island Drive roadway, moved on to offshore oil rig work, and later in life, as a butcher in Mathis, Texas. Rusty settled in Mathis, Texas, and lived there for the last thirty-five to forty years until his passing.

Rusty was an avid fisherman and loved living at the lake. In his younger days, he also loved to hunt. Rusty spent much of his time outdoors. He was always planting and working his gardens, feeding the deer, on the lake or his boat. He was a fantastic artist and loved to draw when he was younger. But above all, he was a joker, a funny guy who loved to play around and have a good time, making everyone around him laugh and be silly and light-hearted, too. His sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Rusty is preceded in death by his dad, Andrew Jordan, Sr., his mother, Dorothy Jordan, and his younger brother, Billy Jordan. We take comfort in the hope that they are all reunited in Heaven, free from pain and illness. Rusty's absence will be deeply felt by many. At this time, there will be no services as his daughters are all in different states and honoring his wishes. His final resting place will be at the Veteran's Cemetery
