Guadalupe R. Gutierrez

Guadalupe R. Gutierrez, born on February 22, 1937, in Mathis, Texas passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. A beloved matriarch, she embraced life with a radiant spirit and an unwavering devotion to her family.

She was the proud daughter of Silverio and Andrea Ruiz. She married her soulmate, Felix Gutierrez and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and joy. Her heart was full as she became the mother of four wonderful children: Rosa Linda Ganceres, Cristina (Mark Wright) Gutierrez, Jesus Gutierrez, and James (Melissa) Gutierrez. Each of her children brought her immeasurable pride and happiness, and her love for them was the guiding force in her life.

Guadalupe's family expanded with the arrival of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life: JR, Reneé, Stephanie, Greggory, Zebbulon, Tiffany, Casey, Avery, Trey, Diego, Dana, Drake, Brianna, John, and Rachel. Her nurturing spirit and wisdom shaped their lives, and they will forever hold dear the special moments shared with their beloved grandmother.

In addition to her immediate family, Guadalupe was treasured by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom knew her as a source of encouragement and boundless affection. She often gathered her family around her, weaving a tapestry of love and support that would serve as a foundation for generations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Ernesto Ruiz, Clemente Ruiz, Benito Ruiz, Oscar Ruiz and Andrea Ruiz. 

Guadalupe's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those she adored. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Tribute Hospice, specifically Alana, Sally, Amy, Elijah, and chaplains Glenn and Matt, whose compassionate care and support provided solace during her final days.

Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate her life during a  Visitation held on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Winsteads' Funeral Home, located at 121 N Duval St. in Mathis, TX. 

Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Guadalupe R. Gutierrez's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her warm smile, unwavering kindness, and the love she poured into her family, which will echo in their hearts for a lifetime.
