Hazel Maxine Gause

Hazel Maxine Gause was born outside of Bandera, Texas on May 2, 1930 to McLamore and Hazel Maude Heinen Dawson. She passed away in her sleep on March 1, 2024 at the age of 93. She was married twice, first to Eugene Frederick Blue and then to Ray Gause, Sr. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two grandchildren, Crystal Leigh Swanson and Adam Alan Hernandez. She is survived by her children Bonnie Sue Blue Schoessow (Curtis), Alice Ann Hernandez (Alan), David Anthony Blue, Phillip McLamore Blue (Claudia), Ray Allen Gause, Jr. (Connie). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Thomas Eric Swanson, Carissa Adriana Hernandez, and Jason Tod Blue, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland. A graveside service will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.at the Lamar Cemetery, 222 Hagy Dr., Rockport, TX 78382
