Irma Vargas, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 88 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on March 14, 1936 to Gil Villarreal and Petra Nevarez. She was a beacon of kindness and warmth, known for her welcoming spirit that made everyone feel at ease.

Irma cherished her time spent with family, particularly during the holidays, creating cherished memories that will last for generations. She is survived by her daughter, Viola Blanco, along with her six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her love and guidance.

She is also mourned by her sisters, Olga (Homero) Martinez and Nancy (Elio) Perez, and her brother, Gil (Anita) Villarreal.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband, David Vargas, and her children, Delicia Vargas, David Vargas Jr., and Jose Vargas. She also reunites with her parents, Gil Villarreal and Petra Nevarez;.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Irma's life with a series of memorial services scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. Pius X Mission located in Sandia, Texas. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 AM, and a Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, Texas.

Irma Vargas will be remembered not just for her family ties, but for the light she brought into the lives of those around her.
