Isabel Garcia Mendez of Taft, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018 surrounded by family.

Isabel is preceded in death by her father Francisco, mother Olivia, brothers Ramon, Francisco Jr., Joe, and Arnulfo. Isabel is survived by brother Raul Mendez (Papalote, TX) sister Janie M. Trevino (Portland, TX) and her five children: Veronica J. Gill (Mick) from West Jordan, UT, Samuel A. Garcia (McAllen, TX) Paul A. Tobar (McAllen, TX) and Matthew L. Tobar (McAllen, TX), Grandchildren: Gabriel G. Gill, Lauren O. Gill, Andrew M. Gill, Dallas B. Gill, and Kebria Alishah.

Isabel was born on November 2, 1952, to Francisco and Olivia Mendez. Isabel enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She enjoyed BBQ's with family and spending time outdoors. she was devoted to her children and grandchildren, often traveling out of state to spend time with them. Isabel was a very generous and loving person who loved making food for family and friends. Isabel was an amazing entertainer. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Limbaugh Funeral Home. A second visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 Rosary at 12:00PM at Limbaugh Funeral Home and Mass at 1:00PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Burial to follow to Taft Memorial Park Cemetery.
