Jackie Milton Allbright, 75, passed away on June 20, 2013. He was born to S.J. and Mildred Allbright on May 7, 1938 in Beeville, Texas. The Allbright's moved to San Marcos, TX in 1951 where Jackie graduated from San Marcos High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 until 1962. On January 25, 1964 he married Jeanette Edlund in Brownsville, TX. They were blessed with five children Stephanie and Michael Betz of Portland, TX, Michael Tami Allbright of Lubbock, TX, Jason and Irene Allbright of Woodsboro, TX, Loretta Chessher of Corpus Christi, TX, and Vickie and Gary Watts of Lubbock, TX. They have six precious grandchildren Scout and Kevin Betz, David and Christine Chessher, and Madison and Nicholas Allbright. Jackie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1966 until 2001. After retirement, Jackie and Jeanette moved to Portland where he was a member of the Portland Church of Christ. Jackie is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren as well as his sister, Marilyn Belver and her family of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and his brother & sister -in-laws Chester Ray and Rena Edlund and their two sons of Brownsville, TX.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland. Interment will be 10:00 am, Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Church of Christ Jamaica Fund, 2009 Wildcat Dr, Portland, TX 78374.
