Joaquin Resio Sr, 86, of Mathis, Tx.  died Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  Born in Round Rock, Tx on October 31, 1931, to Leandro and Guadalupe Resio, Joaquin's family moved to Mathis, Tx in 1945.  He was the second of 14 children. Joaquin spent 25 years in the pipeline where he traveled to over 25 states and was able to take his family with him during the summer months, these were especially memorable times.  After that, he began his own trucking business where he retired after 35 years.Joaquin married Maria Luisa Valerio on May 28, 1957 and had 7 children Sylvia, Leandro, Delmira, Ayda, Joaquin Jr., Lucy, and Linda.  From a previous marriage, Joaquin had one daughter, Noelia Resio Salazar.  He had 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren that he loved to be with.  Joaquin's surviving siblings are Maria De Jesus Casarez, Antonia Munoz, Robert, Pedro and Raul Resio.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Jesusa Garza, Guadalupe Ganceres,  Adela and Aurelia Resio, Santiago Trejo,  Juan Resio, and Leandro Resio Jr., and his beloved children Sylvia, Leandro, Delmira and Ayda Resio and grandson, Barry Thomas Resio.Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 at Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis, TX. from 11 am- 9pm with a rosary at 7 pm.  The mass will take place on Friday Sept. 21, at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Cenizo Hill Cemetery, Mathis, Tx.  He worked hard for a beautiful life and we have all been blessed because of it.  His family would like to thank his extended family, friends, and community for their love and support.
