Juanita "Janie" Garrett

Juanita Martinez Garrett age 57 of Swinney Switch Texas was born in Mathis, Texas on November 6, 1962 to Ramon and Leonor Martinez. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 19, 2020. Janie was married to Roger ‘Pinche’ Garrett. She is preceded in death by her father Ramon and mother Leonor Martinez and brother Jose. Janie was the Mathis, TX 4-H leader and member of the Live Oak Go Texan committee. Janie and her husband helped sponsor several 4-H kids with their projects. She was dedicated to helping her 4-H kids. She is survived by her husband Roger Garrett of Swinney Switch; three daughters, Crystal Guerrero (Steve) of Whitsett Tx, Victoria Shipman (Sid) of Three Rivers, Macey Gutierrez (Jorge) of George West, and three stepchildren Sean Garrett (Heather), Mark Garrett (Jill), Holly Chapman. Grandchildren: Tristyn, Baylee, Corbie, Luke, Brooklyn, Natilee, Grace, Emery, Ava, Joselynn, Tres, Julius and numerous nieces and nephews. Her siblings are Ramon Martinez (Becky), Mary Martinez (Rey), Martina Rosenbaum (Rudy), Ricardo Martinez, David Martinez, Arturo Martinez (Delma), Gloria Olivarez (Alfredo). In lieu of flowers we invite everyone to donate in memory of Janie Garrett to Mathis 4-H, 219 N. St., Sinton Tx, 78387-2613. Pallbearers are Jimmy Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Rudy Olivares, Rudy Rosenbaum Jr, Anastacio Olivarez Jr., Robert Rosenbaum. Honorary Pallbearers are Ramon Martinez, Richard Martinez, David Martinez, Arturo Martinez Visitation will be on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Dobie Funeral Home at 3:00 pm. Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Dobie Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 am followed by Interment at Georgewest Cemetery.
