Kim Hunt

Kim Byrne Hunt of Portland , beloved daughter of Dan and Donnie Byrne (deceased), passed away on April 5, 2021 at the age of 59 after a brief battle with cancer. Kim was a life time resident of Portland and was a graduate of Gregory-Portland High School. Upon graduation from High School Kim married Jeff Hunt of Portland. Soon thereafter she completed her certification in Dental Hygiene which she practiced for several years. She eventually joined Jeff in his farming operation. While assisting Jeff she completed a (BS) degree in Vocational Education from Texas A&M Corpus Christi..                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Kim was an active and beloved member of the First United Methodist Church of Portland where she served in ministries serving the poor, the homeless, and the incarcerated.

Kim was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Hunt, and her nephew Tracy Byrne of Portland. Kim is survived by her son Cody Hunt of Portland, her two older brothers, Bill Byrne of Portland, Dan Byrne, Jr.(Carolyn) of Austin, and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery on April 16 at 10:00 A..M. There will be a Graveside Service conducted by Pastor Larry McRory of the First United Methodist Church of Portland. Kim has been set free and is at peace.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the First United Methodist Church of Portland or the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, Corpus Christi. Funeral arrangements by Limbaugh Funeral Home, Portland.
