Laura Schneider Bauch

Born to Lynette and Edwin Schneider on January 7th 1951, Laura led a life dedicated to faith, education, and her family. A lifelong Lutheran, she was the second oldest of seven children she graduated Salutatorian from Mathis High School in 1968. She would go on to marry her high school sweet heart Erich Keith Bauch just two years later on December 19th 1970. She graduated Sum Cum Laude from Texas A&I University in 1973 and later earn her Masters of Science from Corpus Christi State University in 1978, a feat accomplished while also being an amazing mother to her two young daughters. She faithfully served the Ingleside Independent School district for two years, but would be much more well known for her service to the Gregory-Portland Independent School District for following 27 years. With GPISD Laura would work with the Junior High School as an educator in Math, Computer Literacy, and In School Suspension. She represented GPISD in both the Texas State Teacher’s Association and the National Educators Association, and served the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League faithfully while attending St. John’s Lutheran Church and Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and was instrumental in the creation of the Fisher’s of Family Lutheran Church.

Laura Bauch went to be with our Lord on March 17th 2023 and is survived by her husband, her three children; Erica, Carolyn, and Michael (wife Talitha) Bauch her six grandchildren; William Harris, Edwin, Zipporah, Erich Michael, Luci, and Mark Bauch, and her siblings Erich Paul (Helen) Schneider, Charlie Max Schneider, Sally (Robert) Bess, Jane (Robert) Peteshel, and Grace (Mark) Hetherington.

Visitation will be held 5:00PM-7:00PM Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Winsteads’ Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2023 at Mt Olive Lutheran Church. 5101 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78413.

Interment will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
