Lino G. Cruz, Sr.

Lino G. Cruz, Sr. of Gregory, Texas, born September 15, 1956, passed away July 27, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his family.

Lino was preceded in death by his parents Fernando Cruz and Gloria Soto; his sister Lakeisha Walker and great-grandson Landyn Royse.

He is survived by his beloved wife Rita Esparza; his beloved children Lino (Norma) Cruz Jr., Brenda (Cleofas) Reyna, Michelle (Michael) Hall, John (Brooke) Cruz, Monica (Frank) Cruz, Jessica (Pedro) Villarreal, Maria (Gabriel) Esparza, Lino (Nino) Cruz, and Fernando (Andrea) Cruz; his brothers Fernando Cruz Jr., Alec Cruz, Christopher (Christina) Soto; sisters Maria Christina (Pablo) Gomez, Elma (John) Felan, Veronica Garcia, Cindy Benavides, Irene (Luis) Pena, Judy Martinez, Chrissy (Billy) Mullins, Erika Garcia, Mary Cruz, Diane Champion, Carol Cruz, Anna Morgan, and Stephanie Lusk. He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lino G. Cruz will be remembered for his unwavering love to his loved ones. May he rest in peace.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Interment will follow at Gregory Cemetery.
