Lorraine Yvonne Dutcher Bodin, 83 of Portland, Tx
Went home to be with the Lord Saturday May 18th, with family by her side.
Born Lorraine Yvonne Solem, July 14 1935, in Wolf Point Montana.
Lorraine was raised in Michigan, and lived in California and Washington state before retiring to Texas.
As a young woman she worked with children, founding a preschool and then having an in-home day care later on. She went on to have a successful Real Estate career in Oak Harbor, Washington, where she was a co-owner and broker at ERA Acorn Properties and an active member of the Washington Association of Realtors. In 1999 she sold her business and came to Portland for the warmer weather and to be near family. Lorraine’s love of baseball was a great fit for the CC Hooks, she was excited when they came to town and worked as a suite usher for several years. She continued to follow her beloved Seattle Mariners through the years. Throughout her life she served on a variety of professional committees and volunteered with several non profit organizations. Including Soroptomists International, CASA of the Coastal Bend, MDA, and she enjoyed being a Red Hatter.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Robert Bodin, her first born son Dennis Elliot and her dear brother Marvin Solem, and sister Marianne Washington.
She is survived by her children David Elliot (Michelle), Mari Kay Convery (Tom), Mark Elliot (Kasmira), Daughter in law Jo Elliot. Her Grandchildren, Nicholas Convery (Jodie), Jessica Barak (Blake), Michael Convery, Jacob Elliot (Pilar), and Brandon Elliot. Her Great Grandchildren Sophia Convery and Vivienne Barak, and coming soon Andrew Elliot. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends across the country. Including many in love from the Bodin Family. And her beloved Petey.
Baseball, Traveling, Reading, Spending time with Petey and just hanging out with family and attending church were her favorite things.
She will be missed by many.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the Staff at Senior Care Assisted Living of Corpus Christi, for their continual love and care of our Mom, Granny.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM with a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 25, 2019 at First Baptist Church 1305 Wildcat Dr. in Portland.
A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
