Louis Edward Ortiz

Louis Edward Ortiz, 48, of Corpus Christi, Tx passed away on May 7^th, 2023. Louis was surrounded at his bedside by lots of love, prayers, his family, and a few friends as he went to the heavenly light, home.  He was born on January 17^th, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Tx to Ramon Ortiz Jr and Ruth C. Ortiz.  The Ortiz’s raised their three sons in Gregory, Tx. Louis graduated from Gregory-Portland High School.

Louis will be remembered by his family and friends as a jokester, silly and fun. He also loved spending time with his loved one's barbecuing, eating and making memories. He enjoyed playing cards, watching wrestling, and several kinds of tv sports, playing darts and making friends along the way in his life. He was an umpire with the little league organization in Corpus Christi and the surrounding area.

Louis is survived by his son Louis Jr, parents Ramon and Ruth, younger brother Eddie, older brother Ramon III (Yvette), niece Mickayla (Matthew), Stepdaughters Lidia “Lilly” Gomez, his grandsons (Javier and Jayden Lopez) and Beatrice Flores and preceded in death by his spouse Maria. Louis will be significantly missed by his children and grandchildren and the Ortiz Family as a whole.

Louis also leaves behind a full family of many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and the list is so long to name everyone individually. However, he loved them all dearly. We pray that he was greeted by our many family members who have preceded him in death and have taken him in with love and guidance as he now will serve as an angel to his children and grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 12^th, 2023, at Winsteads’ Funeral Home in Portland, Texas from 5 pm to 7 pm and followed by a Catholic Rosary service at 7 pm.
