Lydia Ramirez, 74, went to be with our Lord on Saturday 21, 2012. She was born August 3, 1937. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lydia was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Portland, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ramona Moreno and Alejandro Rojas and her brother Edward Moreno.
Lydia is survived by her loving husband Pedro Ramirez; her sons, Ramon (Jill) Ramirez of Portland, Rosendo (Gloria) Ramirez of Portland; her daughters, Rachel (Armando) Aleman of Portland, Becky (Tony) Flores of Portland, and Rita (Jim) Stidham of San Antonio; her brothers Henry (Estella) Rojas of Rockport , Marcelino (Angie) Rojas of Portland, Jimmy (Beatrice) Rojas of Portland, Joe (Tina) Moreno of Portland, Rudy (Ida) Moreno of Corpus Christi, and sister Isabel Mendez of Portland. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and close friends whom she loved dearly.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that same evening.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens.
