Maria Anita Rodriguez

Maria Anita Rodriguez, born on July 17, 1940, in San Benito, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Maria's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and a deep sense of family. She is fondly remembered for her passion for cleaning, her sewing skills, and her ability to bring joy into the lives of those around her through the harmonious melodies of Christian music.

Maria derived immense pride and joy from her children and grandchildren, who were among her proudest accomplishments. She leaves behind a loving family that includes her daughters: Rachel (Martin) Carbajal, Rebecca (Scott) Jungclaus, and Donna Sue Rodriguez (Gil Retana); her sons: Ruben (Chriselia) Rodriguez, Raul (Mary Ann) Rodriguez, Reynaldo Rodriguez, and Roel (Michele) Rodriguez; as well as 17 cherished grandchildren and 15 adored great-grandchildren. Maria also shared a special bond with her sister, Esperanza (Fred) Medina, and her brothers, Gilberto (Yolanda) Hernandez and Jose Hernandez. She was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.

Maria was predeceased by her husband, Baltazar G. Rodriguez, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ernestina Luna, Angelita Cantu, and Margarita Padilla, as well as her brothers, Ruben Hernandez, Raul Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, Elias Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Enrique Hernandez, and Rodolfo Hernandez.

A visitation to honor Maria will be held on March 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winsteads' Funeral Home, located at 121 N Duval St, Mathis, TX 78368. A prayer service will commence at 7:00 PM that same day. The funeral service will take place on March 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at 121 N Duval St, Mathis, TX 78368. followed by interment at 11:00 AM at Cenizo Hill Cemetery.

Maria Anita Rodriguez’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
