Marlene Glasson

Marlene Ellis Glasson passed away October 5, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Dementia. She was born August 12, 1940 in Gregory, TX.
Marlene was a graduate of Gregory Portland High School and went on to receive an Associate’s degree from Del Mar College.  In 1958, she married Norman Glasson and they had three children. She enjoyed church, her family, music, traveling, shopping and her flower garden.  She loved Christmas traditions and when the family would gather at her home for food and presents. She got to run the show. Her Chicken N Dumplins and chocolate pies were the best.  A true matriarch of her family, her infinite words of wisdom will be missed the most.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Ellis & Miriam Carroll.
Marlene is survived by her children, Lisa Glasson Jones, Jay (Marcia) Glasson and Craig (Tara) Glasson. Grandchildren Allison (Eric) Guerra, Jeffrey (Tonya) Jones Sr., Joshua Glasson, Hannah (Jonathan) Reinhart, Morgan Glasson and Grant Glasson. Great-Grandchildren Jayden Guerra, Kayla Flores, Melanie Jones, Jaxon Guerra, Jasen Guerra and Jeffrey Jones Jr.
She is also survived by her sister Janet (Buck) Griffith as well as several family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers are Jeffrey Jones Sr., Joshua Glasson, Grant Glasson, Jaxon Guerra, Eric Guerra & Jonathan Reinhart

Visitation is scheduled for October 7, 2021 from 11am to 1pm at Winsteads’ Funeral Home Portland, TX. A Celebration Service will be held immediately following visitation with a burial to follow at Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery Portland, TX.
