Melann Louise Moser Tinning, while surrounded by people who loved her dearly, left the brokenness of this world and her body to be with Jesus on May 16th, 2024.
Melann was born to Richard “Dick” and Louise Moser on September 4, 1962, in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduating from Gregory-Portland High School in 1980, Melann attended Texas Tech University followed by Texas State University where she earned a degree in Journalism. After receiving her certification in K-8 education, Melann worked as a teacher in both San Patricio and Nueces counties. While teaching, she went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi.
Melann’s accomplishments in life did not outshine her greatest joy, which was her children. She never missed an opportunity to share her pride in both of them. In 2007, Melann survived a serious accident that left her paralyzed. Her new life as an incomplete quadriplegic presented many challenges, yet she endured them with grace and found the blessings in the midst of her struggles. Melann’s warrior spirit, deep faith, extravagant generosity, and priceless sense of humor was her hallmark. While Melann never claimed to have it all together, she trusted her life to the One who does. As a result, God used Melann’s life-altering accident in extraordinary ways. While she never returned to the classroom, Melann touched others through her experiences and the lessons life had taught her. She was an inspiration to many, including her beloved caregivers who became part of her family.
Melann is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, and her stepson. She is survived by her children, step-children, and brother.
Together with family and close friends, we invite you to celebrate Melann’s remarkable life and the joy of her eternity in heaven:
