Michael Dee Brown, 55, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in his home.
Michael loved his God, his family, John Wayne and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a lover of God's creation who liked to plant corn "just to watch it grow!" Michael was a preacher, a teacher and a friend to many and looked forward to his "coronation day" with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Michael was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and graduated from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. He served as a pastor for 23 years in New York. Most recently he was Director of Adult Education at First United Methodist Church and loved his church family dearly.
Michael is survived by his wife, Laura Day Brown; his daughters Monica (Brown) Deacons and Megan Brown; his stepson, Jennings Moore and 4 grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his parents, Don Dee and Barbara Brown and Gloria and D.K. Brown, his sisters Mellany Sellers, Carla Heckert, Darla Phillps and Stella Goodwin, one brother, Don Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, June 6 at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
