Michael Larry McCarley passed away on November 11, 2012. Michael was born on February 14, 1948 in Crystal City, Texas to Rhual and Laura McCarley. Michael came to know his Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 5 and had a life-long relationship with his Father God. Michael married Sally Jackson on April 17th, 1970 and began a career at Southwestern Bell from which he retired after 26 years of service. Michael loved serving the Lord and people, volunteering whenever and wherever he could help. He enjoyed getting to know people and truly had a gift for caring. He adored his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. Those that knew him were blessed and his heart was always to follow the commandment to do unto the least of these.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally; his four children, Rebekah and husband James Cooper of Lubbock, Texas; Megan and husband Bryan Horton of Mineral Wells, Texas; Naomi and husband Brandin Lemons of Mineral Wells, Texas; and David McCarley of Denver, Colorado; siblings, Nelda Powell, Clyde McCarley, Royce McCarley, Barbara Fowler, Sue Edge, David McCarley, Clay McCarley and Don McCarley; grandchildren, Lyric McCarley, Christian Graham, Cassie Cooper, Jackson and Price Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles McCarley.
Service will be held at Portland Christian Center on Thursday November 15th at 10 am.
