Nora Jean Ortiz

Nora Jean Ortiz, 54, lost her life after a courageous battle with cancer. She was an awesome mom, loving sister and caring aunt. She loved caring for children and was an avid bingo player. She had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and generosity was felt by all who knew her.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents Miguel and Aurelia Ortiz.  She is survived by her son Jayme R. Ortiz of Gregory, Texas; brother Miguel (Lynda) Ortiz, Gregory, Texas; 5 sisters Nancy (Joe) Ortiz, Houston, Texas, Nelda Casas, Corpus Christi, Texas, Noelia Ortiz, Gregory, Texas, Ninolia (Louie) Amador, Killeen, Texas, Nydia (Ricky) Tamez, Corpus Christi, Texas; 5 nieces; 19 nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

 We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Esther Pollard for her relentlessness in the care of our loved one.

Pallbearers will be Erick Ortiz, Michael Recio, Ricky Tamez, Miguel Ortiz IV, Justin Ortiz and John Martinez.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Interment to follow at the Gregory Cemetery.
