Norma I. Ortiz

Norma I. Ortiz passed away March 30, 2024, at the age of 55. Norma I. Ortiz was born October 23, 1968, in Sabinas Hildago Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose Rosales Aldaba and Irma Trevino Garcia. She moved to Gregory to marry the love of her life Alvaro T. Ortiz Jr in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 beautiful years Alvaro T. Ortiz, Mother Irma Trevino Garcia, grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Garcia, uncles, cousins, and her father-in-law who she loved with all her heart Alvaro G. Ortiz.

She is survived by her one & only child Amy Vanessa Ortiz (Alec) of Corpus Christi, TX; her grandkids Adalynn Mariah Rojas, Ariel P. Luna, Alesana O. Luna and Alec Paul Luna Jr; sisters Maria (Filiberto) Banda Avila, Marissa (Gustavo) Morales, her brother Mario Rosales; mother-in-law Belia T. Ortiz; sister-in-law Diana (Armando) Vela, Carol (Jose) Zamora; brother-in-law Daniel T. Ortiz (Patricia); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma worked as a Home Health Provider for over 25 years around the Gregory/Portland area. If you knew Norma, you knew that she couldn’t sit down until the day was done and there was absolutely nothing else that needed attending. Her work ethic was impeccable. Yet, she still found time to enjoy time with her family. She enjoyed her time listening to music, cooking, and watching shows like Chicago PD, SWAT, and Law & Order! Norma loved her daughter with all her heart, there was no doubt about that. She also loved being a grandma, that was her purpose she’d say. Norma made an impact on everyone she met, she will be missed dearly. Thank you for all the laughs, all the great times Mom! Rest easy now, I love you Ma.

A rosary will be recited at 10:30 am Wednesday April 10, 2024 followed with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory, TX.
