Norma "Ruth" Shepherd Wirsching was born near in Colorado City, TX on January 6, 1927. She left this world peacefully to join her Heavenly Father on February 26, 2014 at the age of 87. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Joe E. Wirsching of Portland, TX and her sister, Pat (Bobby) Bradford of Vincent, TX. Ruth was born seventh of nine children (eight girls/one boy). Ruth and Joe had four children, Patricia Kreher (deceased), Joe J Wirsching of Snyder, TX, Sarah (Paul) O'Brien of Corpus Christi, TX, and Jane Wirsching of Snyder, TX. Grandchildren include: Charles Kreher of New Orleans, LA, Elizabeth (Greg) Wagner of Hillsborough, NJ, David Kreher of Snyder, TX, Shelby O'Brien and Kaley O'Brien of Corpus Christi, TX, Avery Wirsching and Allie Wirsching of Snyder Texas, and one precious great grand-daughter, Abigail Jean Wagner, daughter of Elizabeth (Greg) Wagner of Hillsborough, NJ. She was a wonderful, kind, beautiful woman who brought joy to many.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Monday, March 3, 2014 at the First Christian Church, 3401 Santa Fe, Corpus Christi, TX. On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, visitation will from 5-7pm at the Nalley, Pickle & Welch Funeral Home located at 906 S. Greg, in Big Spring, TX. The funeral service will be at 10 am, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Peace Chapel - Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, TX. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Patricia.
